Waffle Sundae Party

Sneak peek of my movie Daylight Savings, which is the Surrogate Valentine sequel.  I decide to host a waffle sundae party while watching it.

It’s always pretty weird for me to see myself on screen, but especially strange to experience a movie for the first time without an audience present (I guess it doesn’t feel “real” for me).  I invite some friends over to watch with me.

Have to sample this Garlic Spread first.  Majestic Garlic says you can eat it straight up, and I was skeptical since it’s raw…

…but they were right! It’s not harsh at all, just creamy and delicious (almost aioli-ish). Wolf it down with a plate of veggies…

…and a few Food Should Taste Good “The Works” while wrapping up a late-afternoon phone meeting.

A larger platter (with hummus) gets assembled for our guests…

…I also serve waffle sundaes! Using a pre-made pumpkin mix this time.

Toppings: Butter Pecan Brittle ice cream, Fig Syrup, and Trader Joe’s crushed Cinnamon Almonds.

I eat two waffles from the second batch…

…one with everything but the almonds…

…the other with nuts (hold the ice cream).

Movie munchies…

…popcorn, of course! Just a handful of Cheddar and Caramel Corn mix.

Also fun to watch with someone else from the cast…

…speaking of my darling Joy Osmanski, SHE WAS JUST CAST IN A NEW NBC PILOT YESTERDAY!!!!!!

We all celebrate along with her. (Julius “Photobomber” Chenwald too.)

How do you feel about the waffle iron now?

Was talking with Kareem and Ernie last night that we want Goh to come back to Miami for the screening of Daylight Savings. You should all come!

Ha…yes, the waffle iron clean up can be extra fun. They make ones where the panels come out which makes for easier cleaning.

Hmmm…seriously? Let me see what we can arrange when the time comes. You never know what little tricks I might pull from my hat.

Great looking food too — brilliant about using the pumpkin mix for the dessert waffles!

Congrats to Joy! And yay for waffles. I just got a maker…and I’ve been eating them constantly! Thank you for sharing with me. It brightened my Saturday and inspired me to get back into the kitchen and make something delicious. I hope you have a blessed Sunday!

garlic dip looks similar to Zanchou Chicken’s crack sauce…tastes the same? Congrats for your flick!
