Abe’s parents are in town! We fueled up early before picking them up this morning…

…shared the last Core Foods bar (<—still time to enter the giveaway)

Off to LAX – as usual, Julius went ape shit when he saw Wendy and David.

We headed to the beach house to drop off their bags, then a stroll to the boardwalk for lunch…

…Mercede’s Grille has lots of outdoor seating – the weather is gorgeous today!

I loved that they served complimentary fried plantain chips

Noshed on a few, dipped in the sauces, while we waited for our orders…

…I got the black bean soup in a bowl – leaving off the cheese/sour cream.

It’s a pretty shallow dish, so I also had a bite of David’s grilled fish taco…

…and Abe’s egg sandwich – with cheese and tomato

(Couldn’t keep my hands off his melons, either)

This restaurant was good! Not sure why the yelp reviews are so mixed; the service was a bit slow, but super friendly.
I didn’t have any jam, but boy do I love a place that provides options.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an “action shot” of Julius before. Very nice.
Haha, Sammy gets the exact same way with my parents….they do love their grandparents!
Have fun with your in-laws.
Looks like fun times ahead during this visit! I love any restaurant that serves up melon on the side! YUM!
