I Scream, You Scream

Hip hip hooray! I can finally announce one (of the three secret things) I’ve been wanting to share with y’all!

Screen Shot 2012-02-01 at 1.25.42 PM.png

Daylight Savings” the sequel to “Surrogate Valentine,” will be at SXSW this spring! As some of you may remember, the first movie premiered at the same festival last year

…not sure if I’ll be able to go to Austin again for 2012, but I’m just so excited for everyone involved!!!

Sorry for all the exclamation points – I really felt like screaming this morning but I had to hold back for a voiceover audition. On the drive home from the recording, I swung by Kind Kreme to celebrate with some frozen dessert…

…then I realized I had forgotten my wallet. Luckily, I always keep change in my car!

Cute n cozy inside…

…good thing’s parking for free, because I had JUST enough for a small scoop + tip.

Generous free samples, though! The vanilla soft serve…

…plus a taste of the Sweet Corn + Mint Cacao Nib

I decided on the latter

Kind Kreme has a lot of fans (some of them are even my blog buddies), and has been on my LA Bucket List for a long time.

Maybe it was overhyped; sad to say I was REALLY disappointed. I’ve experienced much better raw and dairy free frozen dessert before (FYI they use honey in some flavors)…

…no exclamation points on this place. Sorry I can’t be kinder 🙁

I was hungry afterwards, and wished I still had some $$$ for In-N-Out across the street…

…luckily there’s always food with me (even if I forget my wallet).

i totally agree re: kind kreme! you absolutely must try milky’s froyo in beverly hills (on robertson and pico). it’s my favorite froyo spot in LA, if not california…or the US. there are like 16 flavors, and about 5 of them are vegan.

It looks like you got one of the coconut based flavors which I find are too icy…the texture kind of sucks.

But they have other flavors that are made with nuts. Those are much better. Very rich and delicious.

I want to like Kind Kreme especially since it’s so close to me but I feel like it’s way too much $$$ for too little ice cream. That’s what I’ve experienced at the Pasadena location anyways..

Awwe- I Love Kind Kreme! But yes, you have to order strategically. I don’t like the honey flavored ice creams and it is Way expensive (you must have had a ton of change on you!)
