Everyone should eat beignets on their birthday! Last year, for my 34th, I celebrated at Cafe du Monde….

…since I’m in New Orleans again, we continued the tradition…

…except this location is in a mall. How perfect for a Jersey Girl like myself!
Although the original French Market cafe is a must-experience for any tourist, I greatly appreciated the warmth/calmness of the food court…

…the river view…

…and being able to watch the beignets being born!

C’mere, ya hot beautiful babies!!!

No coffee for me this year, I ate 3 straight up…

…dipped in whatever extra sugar I could find

Afterwards, we wiped ourselves off and boarded a trolley. It’s cold today so this was a perfect morning activity!

Now it’s time for what may become another birthday tradition – DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE!!!
Happy X-mas Eve!!!

Happy birthday!
Happy birthday, Lynn! Looking forward to another great year of your blog posts and acting!
Sorry I’m a day late but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Glad you are having a fun time in New Orleans:)
So funny to stumble onto this post today~ that mall and riverwalk you snapped pics of I used to walk through every 4-5 days for 9 months when I worked for Carnival Cruise Lines! It brought back a smile and some found memories for me, and I adore beignets~ just scrumptious! If you get a chance when you are there, Stanley’s breakfast place in Jackson Square is phenomenal…corn encrusted oysters over poached eggs…I’d walk BLOCKS just to get there for an off-board treat!
Happy (belated) Birthday! What a beautiful way to celebrate!
I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.
Health, peace, happiness and love in his heart. Happy birthday! =)
