If you’re not familiar with the Pittsburgh tradition, you’ll get the gist from this video:

Had to taste one, of course. QC.

The Bel Air Bay Club is a stunning place to have a wedding, if any of you are looking in the LA area

Delicious catering too!

I shared a plate of roasted zucchini and eggplant with Abe

IMG_6108

Also noshed on a stuffed mushroom…

IMG_6097

…and a bite of mini cheeseburger

IMG_6105

Even nibbled on the centerpieces! Can’t resist a fresh fig.

IMG_6098

More artichokes on the dinner tables too…

IMG_9429

We started with a delicious salad of roasted red peppers, feta, olives + side of Challah

IMG_6138

More bread in the form of rolls – they were warm and delicious

IMG_6142

Dinner was various buffets – everything from a pasta station to grilled lamb/chicken

IMG_6144

I devoured a plate with salmon, veggies, cheese tortellini, and mushroom penne

IMG_6161

Of course, cookies were consumed between courses (and dancing)

There were desserts from Big Sugar Bakeshop as well – but those were off limits til the end of the evening

Remember when I taste tested these back in August? Glad to see some of my picks made the final cut!

IMG_6147

I somehow managed to limit myself to 2 mini cupcakes – Pumpkin + Vanilla

IMG_6163

And one more cookie – my favorite one. Tasted like a homemade Vanilla Oreo.

We brought home 2 bags FILLED with sweets. Expect to see a lot more cookies + cupcakes in the upcoming weeks.

Yep, I know all about that tradition! I cannot tell you how many cookies I plated for 300-person weddings when I was a server! Insane.

Haven’t been to a wedding in a while. This made me want to receive an invitation…from anyone!

Beautiful – you looked radiant…as per usual!
I was an Au Pair (my first job in LA when my work visa expired and I decided to stay – good gig to have room and board!) for a couple who blonged to the Bel Air Bay Club – their fmaily had been members for years…needless to say the place is gorge…I spent 3 summers there – it was a great place even if I was the “help” :)
You see Lynn – you can stir emotion and memory in someone whom you’ve never met just by simply sharing your life – thank you for that…

Ah the cookie table! This is serious business. In Philly, there is competition amongst the aunts of the bride/groom to see whose cookies disappear the fastest. Woe to the cook whose cookies remain untouched….

I love the cookie table, as well as the desserts table idea. I’ve always said that my wedding will have to be heavy on the sweets- way more than just cake no one will eat!! :)
