in gluten free, product review, vegan, vegetarian

You know those home meal delivery services you hear about actors using? I’m always being asked if I can recommend a good one, but I’ve never found one that I love (I’ve sampled about 3-4, mostly before I started the blog).

Paleta is an eco-conscious, socially-responsible Los Angeles-based company providing daily gourmet, customizable meals right to your doorstep.

I was invited to attend a special tasting this afternoon in Venice

An example of a typical days’ eats…

…delivered to your door:

That’s only offered in the Los Angeles area (and very soon, Orange County) but there IS one option that is available nationwide – their Cleanse Program:

My eyebrows raise whenever I hear the word “cleanse” but this one actually sounds sane, since you get to eat REAL FOOD in addition to their Brown Rice Shakes.

Speaking of food…

There was quite a spread!

Paleta caters specifically to your diet (vegan, gluten-free, athletes, kids, etc.) so there were many dishes reflecting the scope of what they’re able to do.

I tried everything – and it was all delicious! Simple, fresh flavors – they use organic and local ingredients whenever possible. I loved that their vegetarian menu is mostly soy-free, as well.

Polished off my plate, but was only able to make room for a little bit of dessert

I was sent home with more to eat – lunch leftovers and a goodie bag filled with snacks!

As if all that wasn’t generous enough, Paleta is giving me the opportunity to try their meal delivery for 5 days! Stay tuned for that review; I’ll be in good company – other actors who use their services include Adrien Grenier, Felicity Huffman, Molly Sims, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Jennie Garth.

I love how bright and colorful everything looks. I wanted to say fresh it looks but I’m sitting at a restaurant called Just Fresh and feel lame saying that. Very cool that they cater to specific needs–can’t wait to hear about their meat…..tehe

Wow, this is probably one of the best food delivery services I’ve never seen. I admit, I’ve never been one to get too excited about the idea of having food pre-made and shipped to my door but this is something I could get into.

Haha…I’m always so jealous of the meal delivery services that celebrities talk about during interviews. This one looks yummy!

Wow, that spread of food looks amazing! If only Paleta was affordable and realistic for the average American. For now, looks like I’ll be sticking making my own delicious creations!
