Abe and I have been together for 14 years, so I’ve watched all of his cousins grow up before my eyes. They’re all graduating now – last night we celebrated the first one – little Noah is going off to college!!!
Been saving this jar that Wild Hibiscus sent for a special occasion like this…
…you place an edible flower + some syrup in a glass and add a sparkling beverage (this was Prosecco)
The bubbles gently open the Hibiscus:
I didn’t taste any, but the general verdict was, “Uh, what’s this thing in my glass?!?”
To eat, there was catering from one of my favorite places, Mendocino Farms!!!
Along with an array of their wonderful sandwiches…
…a Strawberry and Cheese salad…
….Penne Pesto with Spinach and Cherry Tomato:
I tried one of the appetizer offerings – Apple, Goat Cheese, and Preserves on Crostini…
….then started filling my plate!
To start – half of two sandwiches – Peanut Butter, Banana, and Apple + Proscuitto and Roasted Chicken
Can you say flava?!? This is my favorite way to eat – samples!
I also tried the Curry Chicken Salad and Turkey Cranberry with Herb Aioli
Oh, and a taste of Abe’s Tomato Caprese too 🙂
My next small bite came a little while later, after we had digested some.
Our cousin Rachel is gluten-free and so was this chocolate cupcake from Whole Foods, though you really couldn’t tell.

…from The Cheesecake Factory! I’ve actually never tried it before, and I now understand why an entire chain is named after this stuff…
…maybe some of the best cheesecake I’ve ever had? The consistency isn’t as dense as most versions – almost as light and fluffy as the whipped cream!
