Winner, winner chicken dinner!!!

Or, rather, breakfast? Lunch? Brunch? Linner? (It was my first meal of the day, but it was also 4pm.)
I hadn’t even planned it, but the cornbread stuffing I brought went PERFECTLY with the other potluck foods – fried chicken from Miss Peaches Soul Food Eatery and homemade mac n cheese

Other party nibbles – veggies, grapes, chips n dips, olives

A big pasta salad with feta, tomatoes, and more olives (<—kinda appropriate because we were celebrating Oliver’s first birthday)

My first plate had a bit of all the hot food, plus crudite, hummus + pasta salad

I went back for more chicken, plus grapes, olives, veggies, chips, and ranch dip

For some reason, whenever I eat fried chicken I only want dark meat, and I want it all. Any other way it’s prepared (grilled, roasted, etc.) I’ll go for the breast, unskinned.
(Miss Peaches’ version was INCREDIBLE, by the way.)
So glad we didn’t bring Julius – dogs were stealing bones left and right!

There were also children everywhere – climbing trees + picking citrus

Sadly I can’t have grapefruit anymore because of cholesterol meds. But I did gather a few Meyer Lemons.

Couldn’t stay for birthday cake – we had Julius responsibilities before a movie date. There was literally another party going on outside the Arclight!

Didn’t watch something from the film festival – we saw “Win Win,” which was really great. I am becoming a big fan of writer/director Thomas McCarthy (The Visitor, The Station Agent) who is also an actor, AND from Jersey, like me!!!
It was still warm out at 10pm when we left the theater. Abe and I were obviously not the only ones craving a frozen treat

A fruit base of mangoes, blackberries, pineapple, and blueberries (they’re in there, buried!)

Three flavors (technically five, since two were combos)

Toppings: rainbow sprinkles + candy fruit

These Haribo Raspberries are the perfect combo of texture + gumminess

A total winner of a Saturday!!!

Oh YUM, that all looks so good! I need to do a pasta salad…it seems like forever. I think summer time is perfect since you can load it up with all the fresh veggies from the garden. I hope your having a great Sunday Lynn!

The pasta salad looks so good – something really easy to make in a dorm, too. I’ll have to try twirl because the flavors look soooo good
The pasta, vegetables and fruit salads looks so deliciously refreshing
I love the way you created your fro-yo cup. You got all the best stuff in there, but still managed to make it look so pretty!!

Nutella flavored froyo??! Sounds awesome. I’m going to have to console myself with the chocolate gelatto in my freezer instead
