Kooky but Kool

March 8, 2011

in dinner, movies, vegan

When Abe came home from work last night I was in the shower, and he offered to cook dinner. It smelled amazing!

As I peeked over his shoulder to see what was going on, he admitted, “”I have no idea what I’m doing.”

I talked him through it – bring the sauce to a boil to reduce, and thicken with cornstarch

Under the frozen veggie mix -

A LOT of flavors going on – veggie broth, soy sauce, salsa, and Jalapeno Jam!!!

Weirded it up a bit more with Sriracha

Dessert was the last two scoops of Tempt Double Fudge

Frozen mango chunks

Started a new movie and fell asleep through most of it (again) …

… but not before cracking up over this:

Apparently, we are as nuts as the kooky psychic in Woody Allen’s latest DVD release.

But with this little face lying around, can you blame us?!?

Exciting news!!!

As explained in this Wall Street Journal article about Surrogate Valentine, we will be simultaneously releasing the movie to the public as we do our festival tours. What does this mean? That if you can’t make it to SXSW, SFIAAFF, Dallas, Cleveland, or any of the other cities where we’ll be on the big screen, you’ll be able to watch it on-demand from your cable network, or on DVD! I recommend the latter, which you can pre-order right now along with the music – there are lots of bonuses and special editions. (Plus, how cool do Goh and I look in cartoon form?!?)

Is it possible to view that in Austin without getting a SXSW pass? I’m a horrible Austinite and I don’t quite understand how SXSW works, but I do know that it makes downtown impassable. :)

i’m a bit clueless about sxsw policies (to be honest they confuse me) but i believe it is possible to get tickets “a la carte” – just after everyone with a badge gets in first?!?

Impressed by Abe cooking dinner. My BF only knows how to work the microwave and burn hot dogs in a pan.

I’m bummed that I get to Austin right after your screening of Surrogate Valentine. One of my husband’s friends is premiering his move at SXSW it’s called Otis Under the Sky. We’ll miss that one too but you should check it out if you get a chance.
