MSY – LAX – Giveaway

It was still dark when we left for our flight this morning (and cold!)

Thankfully there were zero issues – I know a few folks on the east coast who are very frustrated with airplane travels 🙁

Abe and I had a few snacks stashed in our carry-ons

Much more appealing than what United was offering for breakfast.

I went to bed early and got plenty of sleep (will be paying for that later tonight with the time zone change) so I played “Angry Birds” on Abe’s iPhone while he snoozed.

He’s been obsessed (like most of the world) for months. Unfortunately, I had no idea that each “bird” had a special talent and it took me almost forty minutes to beat level 1 of the special Christmas edition.

On the way back from the airport we stopped by Whole Foods for some grocery basics and lunch fixins

I grabbed only a few items from the salad bar – brussels with pecans (disappointing), golden beets, and two wheatberry salads (one with pumpkin!)

No sense in weighing the scale down with stuff I have at home – I supplemented with my own tuna (1/2 the packet)

Tossed with baby spinach and lemon juice

For dessert, the last of Ameena’s Magic Bars

So sad to see them go!

But I got another blogger gift from Lauren that I’m excited to dig into

Plus, a Holiday Card that is sure to stay on the mantel year-round

It’s actually addressed to Abe (he’s on the list for shooting/editing that Pee Wee video in August) but I like to pretend that Paul and I are buddies too.

It may be December 27th, but I still have a mountain of mail and a few gifts to open – so Christmas isn’t over yet for me. OR YOU!!!

This one is for Beyond the Shaker, whose gourmet seasoning blends I use ALL THE TIME. One U.S. Reader will win their Top Sellers Set. All you have to do is either follow Beyond the Shaker on twitter, or “like” them on Facebook, then leave a comment on this post telling me what you did. That’s it!

I loved that New Yorker cartoon, especially since we flew at Thanksgiving and I felt a bit like that snowman!
Can I pretend to be PeeWee’s friend too? Lucky you two—don’t throw that card away after Christmas!!!!

Oh I hope you don’t suffer any travel hold ups…fingers crossed.

Also what a fun giveaway! I “liked them” and I would LOVE to add this to my seasonings stash!

Thanks for a fun give away

I haven’t done any of those things for the beyond the shaker contest, unfortunately. I’m a private person…though I would love to use those products! I hope you’re relaxing and recovering from your stomach bug!

I’m glad you made it home safely! Good call on bringing your own snacks – I’ve gone hungry on too many flights not to bring my own food.

Happy Holidays to you and Abe, Lynn!

P.S. I like to think that Peewee and I are old pals, too (although I always refer to him as Mr. Herman 😉 ).

Getting a card from Peewee is by far the coolest thing that could happen to anyone, ever. I’m super jealous. Glad to see you are back home safe and sound Lynn!
