Blogger meetup today! I drank a Vega Shake and Go to tide me over during my morning walk.

Yes, that would be a “Chicken Run” Crazy Straw in a Pac-Man glass…

No, I don’t have kids.
I thought Lemonade would be a good meeting place for lunch since you don’t need reservations for big groups, it’s cafeteria style (to make payment a breeze), and the food is great!

I blogged about the Lemonade on Abbot Kinney before, but this was my first time at the one on Beverly. Very similar to the Venice location.

I ordered 2 portions of their ready-made salads, which really means 4 options (a portion = 2 scoops).
Sampled the chicken breast with butternut squash, grapes, and oregano…

..but ultimately went with some other choices

- Sweet Potato and Pistachio
- Brussels Sprouts, shaved parmesan, balsamic
- Poached chicken, green mango, jicama, chili
- Spaghetti Squash, farro, pomegranate
The indoor space is small, but there’s plenty of outdoor seating!

My dining companions:
- Christy
- Stephanie (a reader)
- Becki from Hike, Bike, Eat
- Katy from Katy Eats
- Andy and Amanda from Two Boos Who Eat
- (A very blonde) Megan from Healthy Hoggin’
- Eden from Eden Eats
- Ameena from Fancy That, Fancy This
Ameena’s daughter Maya snapped this photo of us before we left – she’s quite the photographer, for someone who hasn’t even started kindergarten yet…

Fun brunch! I always love meeting new foodies via the blog. Speaking of meetups, I am going to be in NYC beginning of September. Email me (actorsdiet – at – gmail – dot – com) if you want to chat and chew!
Stopped by Whole Foods on the way back to get dog food, wound up picking up a six-pack of Zevia. This is a flavor I’ve never tried:

It was no Dr. Pepper, which I’m guessing it’s trying to imitate. There’s something medicinal/cough syrup-y about it (although it’s not nearly that bad).
Hope you’re having a lovely weekend!

Looks like a fun meet up! I went to my first one a few weeks ago and I loved it. There is something so great about meeting up with people that you feel like you already know and that you share so much in common with already. I hope you have a great evening!
