One of my errands yesterday was grocery shopping. I wound up going to Whole Foods to use some free coupons we were sent to review for the blog. Even with that major discount, I wound up spending about $20 more than I normally do at Trader Joe’s. It’s worth it to me, though, because I wind up stocking up on fresh organic produce and hormone-free meats like this one:
Abe’s had after-work plans the last few evenings so I’ve been on my own for dinner. I whipped together a quick stir fry in my Green Pan by dicing and browning a Brat Hans Chicken Sausage with some cooking spray and green onion, then adding some organic baby bok choy and seasoning it all with Braggs Liquid Aminos.
Served over 1/3 cup of whole wheat couscous cooked in 2/3 cup Wolfgang Puck Vegetable Stock:
For so few ingredients, this was surprisingly flavorful!
A terrific organic dessert option! I found myself licking the container – a good sign.
Abe wasn’t getting home til late so I’ve been catching up on movies that he already saw in the theaters. On Tuesday I watched “500 Days of Summer” (which I loved) and yesterday I was lucky enough to get a few more DVD screeners from the Screen Actors Guild, including “An Education” -
I enjoyed it with an organic granny smith -
Did anyone else see this movie? I found it very entertaining – not sure I bought the story so much, but I did think Carey Mulligan’s performance was tremendous. She reminded me a lot of Katie Holmes…
in fact, the whole plot kinda reminded me of Tom Kat….
Before bed I put a 16 oz bag of dried beans in some water to soak…
It exploded a bit in the microwave – good thing I had it covered with a damp paper towel.
A cup of tea too….
I thought this was the “Candy Cane” tea I loved in Philly so I bought I huge box of it. But alas, it’s not. It tastes pretty similar, but I feel duped! I’m still searching everywhere for the rest of Celestial Seasoning’s Holiday Tea Collection, especially the Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride and Gingerbread Spice flavors. Anyone in Los Angeles able to find them?
Thanks so much, Jessie – I can’t wait to use it!
